Spar Floor Light – Jamie Mclellan
16/2/12 – This large cantilevered Floor Light by Jamie Mclellan recently caught my eye in the English design Magazine Living etc. The floor light takes its inspiration from the mast arrangements of classic sailing boats. The simple, two dimensional silhouette relies on a tensioned electrical cable for support. Constructed in spun aluminium and steel, the product breaks down for easy shipping.
Since graduating in 1999 with a BDes in Industrial Design, Jamie Mclellan has designed for manufacturers and consultancies in Australia, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Asia and America.

Things I love: Tolomeo lamp by Artemide
21/11/11 –
Few awards in the design world are as sought after as the Italian-focused Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass) - only 20 have been given out since its introduction in 1954. So the angular Tolomeo lamp, designed in 1987 by Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina, must be something special. It inspired the jury to come together in 1989 to present the prize for only the fourth time that decade.

Komodo by Osborne and Little
8/11/11 – Osborne & Little have released some stunning wallpapers in a collection called Komodo. The designs are created with holographic foil papers to let them shimmer, shine and glitter with style. Osborne and Little have used the coats and skins of wild animals as their inspiration. Snakeskin, pigskin, zebra, panther and lizard.
The Komodo wallpaper is particulary special, you would swear the jewels are three dimensional and it’s quite a surprise when you touch them (as you somehow feel compelled to!) and they are smooth. The lizard dances on the paper appearing to be encrusted with precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds and rubies. The range is absolutely devine and a must for any modern interior design.
Remember if you are in Auckland it is no trouble for me to come to you.
To see the stunning collection up close give me a call and we will organise a viewing time.

Sandberg have emphasised Scandinavian light without compromising on comfort and warmth in your interior. They chose to work with both completely new patterns and original patterns, some from the early 18th century. All the patterns have classic roots, warmly interpreted by Sandberg. The patterns, in combination with easy-going colours, would fit into most interior spaces, especially large areas, such as dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and kitchen.

Dandelion wallpaper: Miss Print
10/9/11 – The ‘Dandelion’ wallpaper was launched in September 2009, and due to its increasing popularity Miss Print has recently launched two new colour ways: Porcelain with powder blue and Mist green with white.
The design originates from hand drawn illustrations and it is reminiscent of the fifties with a modern twist featuring wild dandelions. Another new addition is the well-received ‘Leaves’ design which is available in four colour ways, including dove grey with white in a matt/pearlescent finish. It has been made with a high quality woven fabric and the geometric design fits nicely in with the rest of their collection. The whole wallpaper range is PEFC certified, and printed with organic, non-toxic pigment inks which are better for the environment and for our homes.

24/8/11 – Villa Nova presents High Society, a nostalgic collection capturing the glamour of the 1950s. This playful print collection pays homage to the fashion of the time, featuring hand drawn ladies in quintessential 1950s dresses and abstract, quirky motifs that reflect the retro influence on the collection.
